Do you ever sleep worse when you sleep alone or sleep better when you have a person in the bed with you?
I realized that this week when I had a friend come bring me breakfast and see me yesterday morning. We laid in bed for a little bit and cuddled. He came at an ungodly hour of 5am. I usually don’t get up till 5:20am with alarms going off every 10 minutes until I actually get out of bed at 6am.
I fell asleep with him next to me and it was the hardest I’ve slept in a while. I’ve also had that before with other guys. I’m not sure if it’s the human contact that does it and knowing that there is another human in my bed or what. I do know that as much as those studies say having your dog sleep with you in your bed is the best for you. I agree to a point. When you’re a light sleeper and your dog likes to keep waking up and moving between under the covers and on top of you on top of the covers. You don’t really sleep well. But if you have a dog that is a dead sleeper, who doesn’t move I can see the study being beneficial.
Why is it that we crave for that person? Dogs and animals are amazing and give you that unconditional love but sometimes those aren’t enough. Sometimes you need the human companion.
